Seed Collection and Management Services

SCOPE OF WORK Provided herein are the specifications for the supply of native seeds for Orange County Parks (OC Parks) by qualified native seed suppliers. OC Parks manages over 55,000 acres of wildlands, turf parks, and other facilities. Native seed is needed for a wide variety of projects and the supply of genetically appropriate native seed is unreliable. Genetically appropriate seed is that which is both locally adapted to the site where it will be used and represents the full spectrum of diversity in a population, metapopulation, or ecotype for a particular species. A contract is needed to direct seed collection activities to ensure that appropriate native seed is available for desired native plant species and in required amounts.
