The project is intended to upgrade the functions and condition of the Marine Biotechnology Lab Building, a two-story structure that is approximately 10,000sf and was constructed in two phases - in 1961 and 1985. The building contains laboratories, offices, and classrooms. The project will be designed to comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices, and must be designed to achieve a minimum of a LEED Gold Rating.
