SCOPE OF WORK: The City of Banning is responsible for the collection, conveyance, treatment, and disposal of wastewater generated within its service area. The local collector sewers discharge into larger sewer trunk mains, then to the Banning WWTP, located in the southeast corner of the City (see Figure 1 under attachments). The WWTP has a current capacity of 3.6 million gallons per day (“MGD”) and is designed to treat wastewater to secondary standards. The WWTP consists of preliminary treatment, primary treatment, secondary treatment, solids handling, disinfection (currently not in use), and evaporation/percolation ponds. The preliminary treatment system consists of a mechanical bar screen, compactor, grit removal system, and cyclone separator.
