Boronda Lake Weed Removal Project

SCOPE OF SERVICES CONTRACTOR shall remove submerged aquatic vegetation from Boronda Lake and remove cattails in selected areas to improve conditions for recreational fishing and boating. Target species include but are not limited to the common cattail (Typha latifolia), Pondweed (Elodea Canadensis), and Water Lilies. CONTRACTOR shall provide labor, tools, materials, and equipment for the following: All equipment shall be inspected by City’s Open Space staff to ensure it is clean of nonnative species prior to deploying into Boronda Lake. Aquatic mechanical equipment shall be used to remove the entire cattail plant which includes the leaf/blades and the root/bulb or rhizomes. No rotovation or digging of the sediment is allowed. The cattail plant will be pulled from the base of the plant to include the root removal.
