SCOPE OF WORK A. BACKGROUND INFORMATION San Bernardino County encompasses 20,105 square miles, consisting of a land area of 20,057 square miles and water area of 48 square miles, and is the largest county in the continental United States. It borders Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange, Inyo and Kern counties and the states of Arizona and Nevada. The County’s Innovation and Technology Department is responsible for providing a variety of information technology (IT) services to all County departments, special districts, and other federal, state, and local government agencies. IT services include network connections, such as WiFi, which can be expanded to the public when the public is obtaining services from the County.
