PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND SAFETY The Contractor shall so conduct his operation as to cause the least possible obstruction and inconvenience to public traffic. The Contractor shall furnish, erect and maintain such fences, barriers, arrow boards, lights, warning devices and signs in compliance with the current “Manual of Traffic Controls, Warning Signs, Lights and Devices for Use in Performance of Work Upon Highways” published by the State of California, Department of Transportation, or as may be deemed necessary by the Director of Public Works to give adequate warning to the public at all times that the road or street is obstructed and of any abnormal conditions to be encountered as a result thereof
